The Camondo is the former garage of the Camondo mansion house, which was built at the beginning of the 20th century by Moïse de Camondo.
The restaurant was designed in close connection with the mansion and respects the very shell of the place.
The materials such as the ceramics of the bar, the wood marquetry of the tables, the canework of the seats, the velvet of the benches, the reinterpretation of the wood panelling and the old Persian carpets are a series of winks to the ancient house of Moïse and Nissim de Camondo.
The monumental neon chandelier and the bar brass structure were custom made so as to make of this bar a true centrepiece in the middle of the restaurant.
In the same way, the ceramics of the bar was designed and made by les Cйramiques du Beaujolais and echoes the earthenware kitchen of the mansion house.
Above all, it was important to inhabit this superb space without having the decoration take precedence over the place.
The Camondo restaurant is a contemporary interpretation of the mansion house and its garage, a blend of raw and high-quality materials with no unnecessary adornments.
